Offline registration for Amarnath Yatra begins, first batch to leave on June 29

The live ink desk. Offline registration has also started for the Amarnath Yatra which is going to start from June 29. Since the start of offline registration, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the pilgrims to visit Barfani Baba.

South Jammu SDM Manu Hansa told the media, Amarnath pilgrims are being given offline tokens from Saraswati Dham Token Center. After registration, it is decided on which day the devotee has to travel. Three centers have been opened for offline registration.

He told that a quota of 1000 people has come for registration on June 27. These people will travel on June 29. Children below 13 years of age and people above 70 years of age are not allowed to travel on Amarnath.

A woman who is more than six months pregnant is also not allowed to travel. It is worth mentioning that the annual pilgrimage to Amarnath temple will start from June 29. Registration for Amarnath Yatra is going on from Monday. According to the Amarnath Shrine Board, the Amarnath Yatra will conclude on August 19.

The Amarnath cave is located at an altitude of 3880 meters. It is located in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, which is 140 kilometers from Srinagar, 45-48 kilometers from Pahalgam and 16 kilometers from Baltal.

The Amarnath Yatra takes place through two routes. One is the traditional 48-kilometer-long Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district. The second is the 14-kilometer-long Baltal route in Ganderbal district. There is a mythological belief that Lord Shiva narrated the story of immortality to Mother Parvati in the holy cave of Baba Amarnath.

The form of Lord Shiva appears from the snow in the cave. Amarnath Shivling is also known as Baba Barfani. The cave of Lord Amarnath is located in the Lidder Valley. To have darshan of this sacred ice lingam, devotees undertake the arduous journey to the holy cave shrine situated in the Himalayas of Kashmir in the months of June-July and August.
