More than 2000 quality generic medicines and 300 surgical, nutraceuticals and devices to be made available at affordable price
The live ink desk. Government of Madhya Pradesh inaugurated 50 Jan Aushadhi Kendras in 50 different District Hospitals of Madhya Pradesh to provide quality medicines at affordable prices on Tuesday.
Shri Mangubhai Patel, Governor of Madhya Pradesh was the chief guest and Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh presided over the programme held at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre at Bhopal.
These Jan Aushadhi Kendras will benefit people of Madhya Pradesh. More than 2000 quality generic medicines and 300 surgical, nutraceuticals and devices will be made available at rates 50% to 90% cheaper than those of branded medicines. This will help them in saving out of pocket expenditure on medicines.
The number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras has crossed 13 thousand
As of July 31, 2024, 912 Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been opened in different districts of the country, including backward and Scheduled Caste / Tribe dominated areas. The total number was 13113 as of July 2024. The scope of Jan Aushadhi Kendras is being continuously expanded.
The Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) is regularly making the public aware about the benefits of Jan Aushadhi generic medicines through social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc. Apart from this, PMBI organizes Jan Aushadhi Diwas on March 7 every year.
